Free Plan vs. Pro — Which Is Right for Your Site?
The short version: If your site needs to verify more than about 50 people per month, you will get a lot more value out of the Pro plan. Tier 1 verifications start at $0.05 and Tier 2 starts at $0.15, with discounts applied at higher volumes. You pay only for what you use.

Verification Costs
Free Plan
Your free plan includes 100 credits per month. Each Tier 1 (face liveness) attempt costs 1 credit. Each Tier 2 (document verification) attempt costs 2 credits. A typical Tier 1 visitor uses 1 credit; a typical Tier 2 visitor uses 3 credits (1 for liveness + 2 for document).
Credits reset on the first of each month and do not roll over.
Pro Plan
Pro pricing is usage-based with no monthly cap:
- Tier 1 (face liveness): starting at $0.05 per attempt
- Tier 2 (document verification): starting at $0.15 per attempt
Volume discounts available as your usage grows. You are billed only for actual verification attempts — no minimums, no commitments.
When the Free Plan Makes Sense
The free plan is a good fit when:
- You're evaluating whether age verification is right for your site
- Your site has low traffic from age-gated regions (fewer than 50 verified visitors per month)
- You want to demonstrate compliance without a large upfront investment
- You're building a proof of concept for stakeholders
With 100 credits per month, a Tier 1-only site can verify roughly 80-90 unique visitors. A Tier 2-heavy site (e.g., with non-18 age thresholds) can verify roughly 25-30 unique visitors.
When to Upgrade to Pro
Consider upgrading when:
- You're regularly approaching your credit limit. If you find yourself running low on credits before the month is over, Pro's unlimited pay-per-use model is more practical than purchasing credit packs.
- You need more than 15 regions. Pro supports unlimited regions for complex multi-jurisdiction configurations.
- You want a branded verification experience. Pro supports a custom verification hostname (e.g.,
verify.yoursite.com) via Cloudflare for SaaS, so visitors see your domain instead of the XYZ default.
- You need restricted path mode. Coming soon — Pro will support age-gating only specific URL paths rather than the entire site.
- You want to control the colors and logo in the verification process
- You want to have different Welcome Content slugs by region - Free version uses the same language for all regions.
- Your site sets cookies from other subdomains that you would like to use as an age-gate bypass signal. (Forum software, custom membership code, etc.) You can also use this if you have verified a visitor's age through some other mechanism.
- You need dedicated support. Pro includes priority support and dedicated onboarding assistance.
Cost Comparison Example
Consider a site that verifies 200 visitors per month, all Tier 1:
- Free Plan: 100 credits covers about half your traffic. You'd need to purchase additional credit packs each month, or switch to fail-open for the remainder of the month.
- Pro Plan: 200 attempts x $0.05 = $10/month. Every visitor is verified, no limits.
For a site verifying 500 visitors per month with a mix of Tier 1 and Tier 2:
- Free Plan: Would exhaust credits within the first few days.
- Pro Plan: With volume discounts, total cost is significantly less than purchasing equivalent credit packs. You get unlimited capacity and pay only for actual usage.

Absolutely. The free plan is not a trial — it's a permanent tier. If 100 credits per month meets your needs, there's no reason to upgrade. The free plan includes the same core verification technology as Pro. The differences are capacity, advanced features, and support level.
